AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University senior Ella Moody and sophomore Cassidy Brunner scored a pair of late goals to assure a 2-0 victory over Saint Leo University on Wednesday evening at Hurricane Field.
The score was 0-0 for most of the game until GSW was able to take the lead in the 74th minute when Ella Moody scored her second goal of the season as she beat the Saint Leo keeper who was charging towards the top of the box. A mere 171 seconds later Cassidy Brunner took advantage of an opening and scored the second goal of the game for the Hurricanes chipping the ball over the keeper from just outside the 18-yard box. GSW played stout on the defensive side of the ball limiting Saint Leo to just 10 shots. GSW improved its record to 3-2 on the season.
