AMERICUS, Ga. — Georgia Southwestern State University men's soccer is set for an exciting 2025 season, welcoming a strong and versatile recruiting class of 16 newcomers—one of the largest in program history—while building off positive momentum from last year when the Hurricanes were picked 6th in the 2024 Peach Belt Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Taking the helm this season is Head Coach Joe Barber, officially named in February after a successful stint as associate head coach at Gardner-Webb University. Barber brings a fresh vision and NCAA Division I experience to guide the Hurricanes forward.
The robust incoming class will bolster a dedicated core of returners, providing depth and competition across all positions. This reinvigorated roster creates plenty of optimism as GSW looks to crack the upper tier of the competitive Peach Belt Conference.
The season will ignite with the home opener on Friday, September 5, 2025, when the Hurricanes host Embry-Riddle at Hurricane Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM, continuing the high-energy tradition that brings fans together for a night of soccer and celebration.
