OKATIE, S.C. – The No. 8-ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team claimed its first tournament championship of the 2025-26 season Tuesday, winning the Oldfield Classic hosted by the University of South Carolina Beaufort at the 7,142-yard Oldfield Golf Club.
The Hurricanes finished at +5 (876) over 54 holes (300-284-292) to edge No. 9 Catawba (+7) and No. 6 Wingate (+8) in a tightly contested, nationally ranked field.
The victory marks Georgia Southwestern's first team title since winning the Arkansas Collegiate in March 2025 and signals a strong push as the postseason approaches.

Closing Strong
After opening with a 12-over 300 in Round 1, the Hurricanes responded with the second-lowest team round of the tournament in Round 2 (284, -4) to vault into contention. They sealed the championship with a steady 285 (-12 as a team on Par 5s in Round 3), holding off two top-10 programs down the stretch.
Statistical Dominance
Georgia Southwestern separated itself statistically across the week:

- T-3rd in Par 3 Scoring – 3.20 (+12)

The Hurricanes' dominance on Par 5s proved decisive, finishing 11 shots better than second-place Catawba on those holes.
Individual Highlights
Sam Brown — T2 (-3, 73-70-70)
Brown led the Hurricanes with a tie for second, finishing just two shots off medalist honors. He posted back-to-back under-par rounds to close the event and recorded two eagles, ranking second in the field. Brown's final-round 70 featured two birdies and an eagle on the inward nine as GSW pulled away.
Jordan Jones — T8 (+1, 78-68-71)
Jones delivered one of the best rounds of the tournament with a 4-under 68 in Round 2, igniting the Hurricanes' surge up the leaderboard. He followed with a steady 71 on Tuesday to secure a top-10 finish.
Stefan Rojas — T12 (+2, 77-70-71)
Rojas rebounded from a tough opening round with consecutive under-par efforts in Rounds 2 and 3. His closing 71 included four birdies and key pars down the stretch.
Sacha Corlouer — T25 (+9, 72-80-73)
Corlouer opened at even par and battled throughout the week, contributing a counting score in the final round with a 73.
Joao Costa — T58 (+17, 78-76-79)
Costa rounded out the lineup and provided valuable depth during the Hurricanes' championship run.
Oscar Hammar (Individual) — T35 (+12, 82-75-71)
Competing as an individual, Hammar closed with a strong 1-under 71 — one of the better final rounds in the field.

Gabriel Hull of Emmanuel (GA) captured individual medalist honors at 5-under par.
