AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University's women's soccer team started their season off with a bang after a 5-0 win over Brewton-Parker Christian University on Thursday evening at Hurricane Field.
The season opener was part of GSW's 8th annual Under the Lights kickoff, which held a school-record crowd of 1,329 fans.
GSW showed great control for the most of the game, outshooting Brewton-Parker, 27-2. While on the offensive side of the ball five goals were scored by four different players, three of which were assisted.

- Freshman Jordin Gundin scored the first two goals of her young career in the 37th and 62nd minutes
- Maci Dunlap added on with a goal assisted by Delaney Thomas 45 seconds into the start of the second half
- Ella Moody scored on a Penalty Kick in the 49th minute and also provided an assist to Jordin Gundin for the first goal of the game
- Lita Frost rounded out the scoring for the Hurricanes with a goal in the 74th minute
- Cassidy Brunner lead the Hurricanes with six shots on goal
