Kasin’s Historic Night, Rubio-Amaya’s Conference-Leading Goal Push Hurricanes Past USC Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. – Behind a record-book performance from goalkeeper Noah Kasin and another goal from Peach Belt Conference scoring leader Cesar Rubio-Amaya, the Georgia Southwestern men's soccer team defeated USC Aiken, 3-0, Wednesday night on the road.

Kasin was nothing short of spectacular, stopping all 14 shots on target he faced to earn the shutout. His 14 saves tied for the second-most in a single match in program history, anchoring a defense that absorbed constant pressure from the Pacers, who outshot the Hurricanes 22-19.

On the attacking side, GSW struck early and never looked back. Lucas Schofield opened the scoring in the 13th minute with his first goal of the season, finishing off an assist from Kynu Samuels. After the break, Axel-Ambroise Gravel doubled the lead in the 50th minute, slotting home a pass from Cameron Bennetti.

Rubio-Amaya put the match away in the 63rd minute with his sixth goal of the season, assisted by Schofield. The strike not only sealed the result, but also increased Rubio-Amaya's lead atop the PBC scoring chart.

While USC Aiken generated nine corner kicks and pressed throughout the contest, Kasin and the Hurricane back line held firm to secure the clean sheet, their third of the season.

With the win, Georgia Southwestern improves to 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
