GREENWOOD, S.C. – Georgia Southwestern fell 6–1 to Lander University on Saturday afternoon at Van Taylor Stadium.
Lander took an early lead in the 9th minute and added another goal midway through the first half. The Hurricanes responded one minute later when Cesar Rubio-Amaya scored his ninth goal of the season to cut the deficit to 2–1 heading into halftime.
The Bearcats pulled away in the second half, scoring four unanswered goals, including three in a 10-minute span, to secure the conference victory.
Noah Kasin made five saves in goal for Georgia Southwestern, facing 11 shots on target. The Hurricanes finished with eight total shots, four of which were on goal.
GSW moved to 3–3–2 overall and 2–2–1 in Peach Belt Conference play with the result.
