The Night Hawks (3-2) shutout the Hurricanes (0-7) on
Wednesday afternoon at the Wendy's Soccer Complex, 3-0.
TU got on the board just 6:28 into the game when Niall
McCourt received a ball from Gavin Cameron and slid the ball past
GSW keeper David Porley. Twenty minutes later TU extended their
lead with a goal from junior forward Alex Fleming off an assist
from freshman midfielder Manny Pena. With the Night Hawks
maintaining solid possession of the ball for most of the remaining
time in the half and in the early portions of the second, TU
continued to create opportunities for a third goal but the
Hurricanes would not bend. With 4:16 remaining the Mccourt and
Cameron combination struck again when Cameron split the GSW
backline and sent McCourt one on one with Porley, sliding it past
his right side for the 3-0 lead. The Hurricanes managed only one
shot on goal.
