The Georgia Southwestern men's soccer team dropped a 3-0
decision to Saint Leo University on Friday afternoon at Hurricane
Field.
Jonathan Glenn handled all the scoring for the visiting Lions,
collecting a hat trick in the first half.
SLU's Leonardo Nogueira led Glenn through the middle of the GSW
defense just 64 seconds into play for the game's first goal.
In the 30th minute, Glenn caught GSW out of position on a quick
restart, placed the ball on the ground and sent it past Hurricane
goalkeeper David Porley who could not get back in time to protect
his net.
Glenn capped off his afternoon with a goal at the 31:26 mark off
another pass down the middle of the field, this time from Bruce
Cutler.
Saint Leo, ranked No. 8 in the South region of the latest
National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas poll, outshot
GSW 16-8 and held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Sean Howe and Jesse Davis led the 'Canes offense with two shots
apiece.
The Hurricanes travel to Thomasville on Wednesday for a match
with Thomas University at 4:30 p.m.
