AMERICUS, Ga. -- Three members of the Georgia Southwestern State University men's golf team were recognized earlier this week for their accomplishments on the course and in the classroom, earning 2025-26 Cobalt Golf NCAA Division II All-America Scholar honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Junior Sam Brown, senior Oscar Hammar and sophomore Stefan Rojas each received the prestigious academic distinction, which recognizes NCAA Division II student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence both academically and athletically.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors, student-athletes must be sophomores, juniors or seniors academically and athletically, compete in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average below 78.0 and carry a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 while remaining in good standing at their institution.

An accounting major, Brown earned the honor for the second consecutive season after helping lead one of the most successful campaigns in program history. The PING Second Team All-American, PING All-Southeast Region and First Team All-Peach Belt Conference selection captured medalist honors at the Peach Belt Conference Championship and finished the season ranked No. 12 in the NCAA Division II individual rankings. Brown also earned a spot on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team and was recognized as a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar.

A business administration major, Hammar was named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team after helping the Hurricanes capture three tournament titles, including the Peach Belt Conference Championship, and advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship. He also earned PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar recognition during the 2025-26 academic year.

Rojas, also a business administration major, received Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors following a sophomore season in which he finished ranked No. 72 nationally in NCAA Division II. He played an important role throughout the Hurricanes' championship campaign while also earning Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar recognition.

Georgia Southwestern concluded one of the finest seasons in program history by winning three tournaments, including the Peach Belt Conference Championship, before advancing to the NCAA Division II National Championship for the fourth time in the last six seasons. The Hurricanes reached the national quarterfinals and finished the year with three PING All-Americans, three PING All-Southeast Region selections, the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year, a GCAA All-Freshman Team selection and Dave Williams Award finalist Darcy Donaldson.

A total of 209 NCAA Division II golfers from 77 schools earned 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.
