AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University baseball team had five players named to the 2025 All-Peach Belt Conference teams revealed on Thursday by the league office. Cory Lee, David Hernandez and Andrew Geiger earned first team distinction. George Davis and James Fordham were named to the second team.
Lee, the Hurricanes senior second baseman from Loganville, Ga., led the team with a .357 average. He ranked second on the team with 20 multi-hit games, 14 doubles and 42 runs batted in. Lee hit .378 in PBC games.
The senior catcher from Hialeah, Fla., Hernandez hit .436 in conference games, which ranked second in the league. He finished with an overall batting average of .352, which was third highest on the team. His strikeout percentage of 13.5 was the lowest of the regular starters.
Geiger finished the season with a 7-4 record and a 3.06 earned run average over 97 innings in 14 weekend starts. The graduate student from Naples, Fla., struck out a team-best 86 batters and walked only 21. Geiger was a second team All-PBC selection last season. This year, he led the team in ERA, strikeouts and tied Fordham for wins. Geiger led the PBC in innings pitched, his ERA ranked third in the conference, he was fourth in strikeouts and his opposing batting average of .243 ranked seventh.
Davis, a senior from Bradenton, Fla., earned his second All-PBC award after being named to the second team last season. This year, he tied for the team lead with eight home runs. The Hurricanes third baseman hit .284 and collected six of his home runs in conference games. He was named the PBC Player of the Week on April 21. Davis wrapped up his collegiate career ranked second in home runs all-time in the program's NCAA era.
Fordham, a sophomore from Chester, Ga., finished with a 7-2 record and a 4.15 ERA over 78 innings this spring. His first seven decisions were victories and he did not suffer a loss until April 26. His 85 strikeouts was one behind team leader Geiger. Fordham led the PBC with the lowest opposing batting average in conference play (.201) and ranked seventh in strikeouts (46). He was named the PBC Pitcher of the Week on March 31 and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week on April 1.
