AMERICUS, Ga. – Georgia Southwestern men's soccer picked up an important 2-1 home win over Middle Georgia State on Wednesday night at Hurricane Field.
After consistent pressure throughout the opening half, the Hurricanes broke through in the 32nd minute on an own goal to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Bryan Garcia doubled the advantage late in the second half with his first goal of the season, finishing off a perfect pass from Axel-Ambroise Gravel.
Middle Georgia State pulled one back in the 87th minute, but the GSW defense held firm to secure the win. The Hurricanes out shot the Knights 16-5 and allowed just two shots on goal.
