AMERICUS, Ga. – Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer held No. 5 North Georgia scoreless through the opening half Saturday evening at Hurricane Field before the Nighthawks used a late push to secure a 3-0 win in Peach Belt Conference play.
The Hurricanes showed strong defensive organization throughout the night, led by goalkeeper Alana Beddow, who collected five saves. The back line of Maci Dunlap, Kira Wilson, and Toni Clark faced consistent pressure and helped keep the match even through the first 45 minutes.
On the attack, Ella Moody and Delaney Thomas both recorded shots on goal as GSW continued to generate counter opportunities against one of the nation's top-ranked teams.
North Georgia broke through midway through the second half and added two goals in the final 15 minutes to close the match.
