VALDOSTA, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss at Valdosta State University on Wednesday evening at the VSU Soccer Complex.
The Blazers took the lead in the 25th minute and carried their one-goal advantage into the halftime break. VSU (3-2) extended its lead in the 59th minute and added a penalty kick in the 65th minute to close out the scoring.
The Lady Hurricanes did not attempt a corner kick for the first time this season and were held to a season-low three shots, all coming in the second half.
GSW (1-3) returns home to host USC Beaufort (3-0-2) on Saturday in the Peach Belt Conference opener for both schools at 7 p.m.
