MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Georgia Southwestern baseball team extended their losing streak to two games as they were defeated by Auburn University Montgomery on Tuesday night.
GSW jumped ahead 4-0 at the top of the fourth inning and looked like they had control of the game. The Hurricanes got into trouble on the mound when Auburn Montgomery tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The floodgates opened even more for AUM scoring six runs in the seventh inning to put them ahead 10-4 going into the ninth.
The Canes shrunk the deficit on a Kalvin Alexander homer to start the inning GSW shrunk the lead to one run but it was too little to late for the Canes.
Jake Blindstrub had a solid game for the Canes collecting two hits in his four at-bats and added two RBIs. Blindstrub was one of two Canes players to record multiple hits in addition to Reid Ragsdale who went 2-for-4 scoring two runs.
Kalvin Alexander was the only canes batter to hit a home run he finished the game 1-for-5 and added two RBIs.
The Canes had a rough night on the mound surrendering 10 earned runs and 12 hits George Osborne III will get his first loss of the season.
GSW will fall to (9-6, 6-3) on the season next up they will be starting a three-game road series with conference rival Young Harris College (14-6, 6-3). First pitch 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Zell B. Miller Field.
