Canes Fall in Finale to Georgia College

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern baseball ends its win streak at six games falling to Georgia College 14-9.

Georgia College scored seven runs and recorded seven hits in the first two innings which made it tough for GSW to come from behind.

The score was 9-0 until the bats for GSW came alive in the seventh inning GSW avoided being shut out by scoring two runs on three hits to cut the GC lead.

Georgia College hit a home run in the top of the eighth Canes struck back scoring four runs on four hits that cut the Bobcats lead by four runs the score was 10-6 going into the ninth inning.

There were more fireworks in the ninth inning Georgia College scored another four runs to give them 14 on the day. In the bottom half of the inning, the Canes scored three runs but were not able to stage a comeback over Georgia College.

Jake Blinstrub was one of the few bright spots for the Canes went 3-for-6 batting and collected four RBIs.

Grant Adams had a rough day on the mound he went one and two thirds innings gave up seven runs and will fall to 3-3 on the season. 

Pitching did not perform well today but that happens to every team they are looking to shake off the loss and move on to the next game

A quick turnaround for the Canes they will travel to Rome, Ga to take on Shorter University (14-15, 8-10) the Canes won the first meeting 5-0 first pitch 3:00 p.m. Tuesday
