ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- The Georgia Southwestern slugs to a win defeating Claflin University 15-4. The Hurricanes started slugging in the fifth inning scoring six runs on home runs from Paul Hegeman and Hunter Foster who hit a grand slam coming off the bench as a pinch hitter for Garrett Bradley. Hegeman finished the game 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs.
The Hurricanes scored another six runs in the eighth inning including a Miles Hartsfield three-run home run. Hartsfield had a great game going 3-for-4 including a double a home run 3 RBIs, and walked twice.
The Hurricanes are now 3-1 on the season as they hope to keep the winning going as they will end the series with a doubleheader at historic Mirmow Field Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
