fell a match short in their bids to break into the win column in
Peach Belt Conference play with a pair of 5-4 losses to North
Georgia on Saturday afternoon at the NGCSU Tennis
Complex.

The Georgia Southwestern women's tennis team fell to North
Georgia, 5-4, in a PBC matchup at the NGCSU Tennis
Complex on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Hurricanes (4-7, 0-5 PBC) fell behind 3-0 after doubles
action, before taking four-of-six matches on the singles side.
At No. 1 singles, Leady Cuellar defeated Stasa
Vujoseciv 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Lauren Grogan won for GSW at No. 3,
defeating Ashley Marie Jordan 6-3, 6-1. Melinda Vansant was
victorious at No. 5 over Sara Vaughters 6-2, 6-1. Katie Adamson
earned the final victory for the Lady 'Canes, a 6-0, 7-5 win at No.
6.
Southwestern is back in action on Sunday (3/7) with a noon
match at Lander.

The Hurricanes (3-5, 0-3 PBC) fell behind 2-1 after doubles
action and split the six singles matches with the Saints.
Southwestern's lone win in doubles came at No. 1 where Victor
Piñones-Haltenhoff and Ryan Bartz defeated Luciano Paes Neto
and Daniel Aquilon, 8-3.
Piñones-Haltenhoff was the 'Canes only
double-winner, picking up a victory at No. 1
singles, defeating Paes Neto 6-3, 6-2. Sebastian
Munoz won for GSW at No. 4, defeating Adrian Saulais 6-1,
6-4. Rashad Carson earned the final victory for
the Hurricanes, a 6-0, 4-6, (10-5) win over Andy
McMaster at No. 5.

match at Lander.
