Thomas University scored five runs in third inning to a take the
lead from GSW, 7-4, and cruised to a 15-8 win in Thomasville on
Wednesday afternoon.
The Hurricanes wasted no time getting on the board, scoring two
runs in the first inning. Thomas answered with a pair of runs of
their own in the bottom of the frame to tie the score at 2-2.
GSW pushed a run across in the second and another in the third,
taking a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the third;
that's when TU opened the game up with their five-run frame.
The Hurricanes would trail the rest of the way.
Jody Sellars (1-2) took the loss for Southwestern.
GSW returns home this weekend for a Peach Belt Conference series
with Augusta State.
Saturday the Americus-Sumter County Chamber of
Commerce is holding a tailgate party at Hurricane
Field. Students, staff and faculty are welcome to
attend and enjoy the free food provided by the chamber. Food
will be served from 5-7 p.m. with first pitch of the baseball game
set for 6 p.m.
