THOMASVILLE, Ga. - GSW scored six runs in the second and never
looked back en route to a 15-6 win at Thomas University on Tuesday
afternoon.
Cody Adams had a monstrous day at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 with
a double and home run while driving in two runs and scoring three
times. Zack Stanton added a 3-for-5 performance with three RBI and
three runs scored. Noble Coley, Patrick McCarthy and Daniel Lynn
contributed multiple hits. Coley hit his first home run of
2008.
Jonathan Rossi finished 2-for-2 off the bench and Randy Adams went
2-for-4 with a solo home run for Thomas. Brett Palmer added his
second home run of the season.
Nine pitchers entered the game for the two teams as James Wilson
(4-3) picked up the win in two innings of relief. Andrew Whiggum
went four innings, allowed one run on three hits in a shortened
start. Scott Mancauskas (2-3) took the loss for the Night Hawks.
Mancauskas surrendered six runs, all earned, in 1.2 innings of
work.
GSW improves to 16-32 overall. #8 Columbus State comes to town this
weekend for the final games of the season. Game 1 is Friday at 5
p.m. The series wraps-up with a doubleheader on Saturday that
starts at 1 p.m.
