The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team notched their
third straight victory with a 71-61 win over the University of
Puerto Rico-Bayamon in St. Petersburg, Fla. on Saturday afternoon.
GSW junior guard Brittany Reynolds recorded a double-double with
16 points and 11 rebounds to lead three Lady 'Canes in double
figures. Reynolds connected on 6-of-7 shots from the floor,
including both of her three point attempts. Brandi Burris added 16
points and Whitley Wiltz tallied 10 points with seven rebounds.
The Lady 'Canes controlled the boards, nearly doubling Puerto
Rico-Bayamon, 51-26. GSW had 20 second chance points compared to
two by Bayamon. Both teams shot well from the floor. Southwestern
held a 45.5 to 41.5 field goal percentage advantage.
GSW (4-1), off to their best start since 2004-05, travels to
Pensacola Christian on Tuesday.
